Young entrepreneurs are introduced to the latest packaging design trends
5.02.2018

At the beginning of February event P.S. PĀRDOTS was held in Jelgava business-incubator of Latvian Investment and development agency (LIAA). During the event the IMMER Design Studio designers introduced the young entrepreneurs to the latest trends in visual material development. Participants of the event found out how communication and work organization between designers and the client is organized, as well as received particular advice on improvement of their ideas.

During the educational workshop, the lead designers Ints Neiberts and Gundega Bruvere of IMMER Design Studio spoke to the young entrepreneurs of Jelgava business incubator. The industry experts told the entrepreneurs about modern graphic design trends and the path from an idea to product identity development. During the second part of the event, the entrepreneurs together with the designers analysed visual identities of their companies, product packaging and visual materials.

“The idea must become a thought through and correctly developed visual identity of the product, which is followed by choosing the correct product packaging type, and only then is the design created. Creativity is not enough. A clear understanding of end-product functionality and target audience is required as well. During the workshop we told about questions that every entrepreneur must be able to answer to ensure a sellable result,” said Ints Neiberts.

This was already a second event of P.S. PĀRDOTS event cycle organised by LIAA in Jelgava business incubator for incubator entrepreneurs to meet industry experts. The aim of the P.S. PĀRDOTS event series is to provide the entrepreneurs with an understanding of the product or service market promotion, tools and instruments to reach their target audience.

“Critical thinking, research and company identity are the key-words for successful product development and promotion – prior to offering a product or a service the target audience must be researched, the needs and feelings of the potential buyers about the offered product or service must be examined, and only then any assumptions should be made. We often notice that it is hard for entrepreneurs to say no to their initial idea or to accept mistakes and listen to negative feedback about their brand. The biggest mistake is made by those who do their business while relying only on their own assumptions instead of the needs of the potential clients,” said the project manager of LIAA Jelgava business incubator Renate Berante.
